"If there's a secret I could whisper and you could keep, it's that it is all inside you already, every single thing you need"
~ The Afterlife of Billy Fingers...a true story by Annie Kagan

have you read the book, The Afterlife of Billy Fingers? If you haven't It's an interesting read. I'm reading it now and it reminds me of the experiences I had when I was 19 years old, when my friend Roger, who was like a brother to me, passed away from cancer. The experiences i had back then in the few weeks following his passing changed how I looked at many things and shaped the course of my life for many years to come: right up to this present day.

Meditation has now scientifically been proven to add a host of benefits for not only your mind but for your over all health and wellness. Join Terry Hodgkinson for Saturday's meditation session and experience what meditation can do for you!

Saturday, October 25th 10am - 12pm

Two powerful meditations led by Terry Hodgkinson.

The two meditations on this day will be:

1. OSHO Nadabrahma Meditation

and

2. Transforming the Negative Perceptions of Self - A Dalai Lama Meditation

1. OSHO Nadabrahma Meditation

Nadabrahma is the humming meditation – through humming and hand movements conflicting parts of you start falling in tune, and you bring harmony to your whole being. Then, with body and mind totally together, you “slip out of their hold” and become a witness to both. This watching from the outside is what brings peace, silence and bliss.

“So in Nadabrahma, remember this: let the body and mind be totally together, but remember that you have to become a witness. Get out of them, easily, slowly, from the back door, with no fight, with no struggle.” Osho

The meditation lasts an hour, and there are three stages. Your eyes remain closed throughout.

2. Transforming the Negative Perceptions of Self

The Dalai Lama not only recommends this meditation but practices it himself everyday.

The Dalai Lama tells us that there is nothing else necessary because just by seeing your negative left-side self, you will become so disgusted with yourself when you witness yourself acting in any of the left side ways that you will automatically cease any of those actions and start doing and feeling the right-side actions. Eventually, you will become the right-side you exclusively. Eventually, you will have peace, compassion, wisdom, good health, patience, and all the other glorious aspects of life.

This technique has the potential to change your life profoundly for the better. It is one of the best antidotes for negativity. It is consistent with his unlimited compassion that the Dalai Lama has shared it with us.

Here is what Theresa had to say from the last meditation session:

Being here 13 years ago I knew how beautiful and full of energy Dharamsala is. This time I really was looking forward to seeing the others I took here, how they would react?  As you can hear from their voices and see from their faces they were just as taken by the areas splendor as I was.

The drive up from lower Dharamsala to Mcleod Ganj was just as I remembered it, twisting and winding around the foothills of the Himalayas. We continued to climb higher and higher. Our first night stay was at a beautiful guesthouse with totally stunning scenery. We visited Namgyal Monastery, the Dalai Lama's temple and residence. We had to check and store our camera equipment as there was no filming or pictures allowed on the inside. However here you will see some great video as we walked around the outside of the temple complex, where there were lots of playful monkeys.

After the first night at the guesthouse we moved into residence at the Dip Tse ChokLing Monastery where I stayed the first time I came to Mcleod Ganj, many years ago.
EACH and every day if we learn, grow and improve ourselves no matter how small our steps might be, at least we are moving in the right direction.
