Mental Fitness
Going to church, joining a club or group, chatting on line, calling a friend on the phone, or hanging out with friends are all means of socialization. These are the activities that banish loneliness feelings and promote the sense of safety, belonging and enjoyment that helps people to feel secure. Social contact may help us improve our brain functions.
Mental fitness seems to depend on a large part on being connected with other people. For instance people with low social support seem to be more prone to mental illness (McGuire & Raleigh, 1986).
So let's get the social party started this Sunday. See you there! |

This is a training reference video for students of Sifu Terry's martial arts class. They learn the technique first with him and then can always refer to the reference video to refresh their memory
if needed.
Sifu Terry Hodgkinson has been teaching martial arts for 30 years. He has owned and operated professional schools for 16 years and now teaches Essential Path Martial Arts & Meditation. The emphasis in Sifu Terry's classes focuses on the cultivation of awareness and inner peace. Terry has trained with many teachers over decades and has taken extensive sabbaticals to the Far East.
Sifu Terry teaches both combative and healing aspects of the martial arts.
In Sifu Terry's classes, mindfulness is applied with every movement and thus every movement becomes a meditation in motion. Sitting meditation is also practiced with each class.
Unlike some of Sifu's teachers in the
past, Terry believes there are no secrets to learn in martial arts and there are no ultimate martial arts styles, systems or teachers! Rather, the ultimate aim of any student and teacher should rest in the knowing what one is capable of achieving and what is one's true nature.
