How does one determine quality in life? I'm not sure how everyone else determines it but I like to think it's about giving and receiving love, having a balanced approach between work and play, learning new things, having good
friends and keeping things simple - as Johnny Depp said in the above quote.
In the picture above you see me practicing a Kung Fu staff form. Something I have been doing since the age of 12. I find practicing Kung Fu is like meditating; it centres the mind, stabilizes the emotions and
invigorates both body and spirit! This weekend I pushed myself harder than usual of late due to having plantar fasciitis, a very painful foot injury. Between martial arts practice, sparring and baseball practice I was pretty sore afterwards. However, with the exception of my painful foot it was a good feeling of sore. One of those ones where you feel good that you pushed yourself and you
can feel the results of your efforts in all your muscles!
So what are you doing this summer that invigorates you? Trying something new perhaps? Getting back into something you enjoyed but haven't done for a while (or maybe a long while)? Planning any trips? Joining a seminar,
social or retreat? Not feeling inspired to do any of this? Read on, you might find what you need in this newsletter to help change the tide in your favour.
Always remember that a little bit of soreness from pushing yourself helps to remind you that you're still alive and kicking
in this life and plan to be for quite some time!
