Very pleased to announce this life-changing tradition. The ceremony will be conducted by Anishinabe (Ojibway) elder, Clem Courchene. Along with his assistants, he will be traveling from Sagkeeng First
Nation (Fort Alexander), Manitoba. Clem has been trained and mentored in the Ojibway spiritual traditions and he freely shares his knowledge and experience with all. People of all faiths, races, ages, gender, and diverse beliefs and backgrounds are welcome to attend.
The sweat lodge is an ancient native ceremony of purification and prayer. It takes place in a covered dome made of willow saplings. Water or medicine
is pored over the heated rocks that are brought in. The ceremony consists of drumming, singing, prayer, healing, and sharing. The environment, although respectful, is light, enjoyable, and healing in nature. Those of you, who have shared this experience with us over the last 15 years, will know that the Ojibway sweat lodge is truly a life changing experience. Please come and experience this wonderful, living spiritual, cultural practice.
There are many reasons to come to a sweat lodge, but probably the most important is to participate in a community. Come to a sweat lodge not because you need healing, but because your neighbour, friends, and family do. By approaching the ceremony with a spirit of humility and service to others, we find our way to reconnect with Life again.
