The Tao of Inner Outer You Harmony
"Travel is such a wonderful experience! Especially when you forget you are traveling. Then you will enjoy whatever you see and do. Those who look into themselves when they travel will not think about what they see. In fact, there is no distinction between the viewer and the seen. You experience everything with the totality of
yourself, so that every blade of grass, every mountain, every lake is alive and is a part of you. When there is no division between you and what is other, this is the ultimate experience of traveling." ― Liezi, Lieh-tzu: A Taoist Guide to Practical Living

Qi Gong (pronounced CHEE-GONG) can be traced back 4,000 years to ancient China. "Qi" is simply the Chinese word for energy, and "Gong" means skill that is cultivated through ongoing practice. So, put together, "Qi Gong" means "cultivating the body's vital energy," and then using it to heal and strengthen every system throughout the body.
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the
physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind.

Your vote counts! What amazing places in the world would you like me to lead the next travel adventure/retreat to? Please have a look below at some of the countries I'm considering for next year and let me know which destination you would like to see me offer
next year. Thank you. |
Without question, India is the most engaging, colourful, chaotic, spiritual and life-affirming country in the world. It is an assault on the senses – all of them, nearly all of the time. India, it is often said, is not a country, but a
continent. Stretching from the frozen summits of the Himalayas to the tropical greenery of Kerala, its expansive borders encompass an incomparable range of landscapes, cultures and people. You’ll encounter temple rituals that have been performed since the time of the Egyptian Pharaohs, onion-domed mosques erected
centuries before the Taj Mahal was ever dreamt of.
Friendly and fun-loving, exotic and tropical, cultured and historic, Thailand radiates a golden hue from its glittering temples and tropical beaches to the ever-comforting Thai smile. Thailand is Asia’s primary travel destination and offers a host of places to visit. Yet despite this vast influx of visitors, Thailand’s cultural integrity remains largely undamaged – a country that adroitly avoided colonization has been able to absorb Western influences while maintaining its own rich heritage. In a nation with well over 100 ethnic groups, exploring Myanmar can often feel like you've stumbled into a living edition of the National Geographic, circa 1910! The country, for instance, has yet to be completely overwhelmed by
Western fashion – everywhere you'll encounter men wearing skirt-like longyi, women smothered in thanakha (traditional make-up) and betel-chewing grannies with mouths full of blood-red juice. People still get around in trishaws and, in rural areas, horse and cart. Drinking tea – a British colonial affectation – is enthusiastically embraced in thousands of traditional teahouses.
The Land of Japan is richly endowed with nature and has beautiful mountains, trees, rivers, lakes and seas; which show distinctive beauty in each season. In spring, trees begin to bud and cherry blossoms bloom. In summer it is hot and people
enjoy water sports. In autumn, trees turn red and yellow, painting the mountains in autumn color. In winter snow falls so that sports such as skiing can be enjoyed. Onsen, or hot-springs, one of the blessings of nature, can be enjoyed throughout the year. Taking a bath at an onsen will be the most comforting experience for you. Japan’s unique natural beauty will give visitors an unforgettable experience.
The Indonesian island of Bali is a favourite destination for both adventurers and those in need of a little relaxation. The waters off the coast of Bali's white beaches are an ideal spot for diving, while the dense jungles, teeming with monkeys
and hidden stone temples, call out for exploration. Hike the rugged path to the summit of Mount Batur, and your effort will be rewarded with a stunning view. Then coax your sore muscles back into action with a massage at one of Bali's many luxury spas.
So let me know which of these magical, amazing and beautiful places catches your eye the most, enough that you would like to go next year on an amazing Tao Journeys retreat and experience it for
yourself.

Oh and China is still an option
too!
