Recently Terry was asked to travel to New Bern, North Caroline where BrainTap Technologies was holding its annual corporate summer convention. Beside being the master distributor for BrainTap in Canada, Terry was asked
by a number of the doctors if he would teach and share his wisdom of Qigong and Tai Chi. With over a 100 people in attendance, Terry had a lot of fun helping others benefit from this incredible practice.
Baduanjin also known as The Eight Silken Movements Brocade or Eight Treasures, is one of the most
common forms of Chinese qigong used as exercise and for the betterment of health. The name Baduanjin suggests a silky-smooth quality (similar to brocade) to the body’s movements and energy. Baduanjin is principally a form of Medical Qigong, used as way to improve and maintain the practitioners’ health and vitality.
Baduanjin consists of eight discrete exercises that focus on
different physical areas and Qi meridians, with each of the movements repeated a number of times. Additionally, each of the movements may be practiced individually to reap the same health benefit.
Terry Hodgkinson first learned Baduanjin nearly 20 years ago in India, when was on an extended wander, through many Asian countries. He teaches
these Qigong moves on most of the groups he leads to China and India.
In this video Terry shares explanation and practice of the first three moves of Baduanjin that he taught at the convention in North Carolina and then created this video in a natural setting so people would remember and practice what they had
learned.
Why not stand up, join in and experience the benefits for yourself?!
You can also do the moves sitting down as well. Great for stretching when you have been sitting at the computer too long!
