some of the most significant growth experiences in my life happened when I extended myself into the unknown. What I mean by that is I put myself out there and participated in functions and events that I really didn't know a whole lot about.
I am a huge proponent of experiential learning. If you get involved in activities or events that stimulate your mind and heart and help you to look at things differently, then you have the opportunity to see your reality and even the world differently. The other thing I have learned is that "nothing happens" if you "do nothing".
Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right". He started the Ford Motor Company from scratch and brought about evolution in the transportation industry and he did all this with very little formal education! What he lacked in formal education he certainly made up for in "passion", by putting himself out there into the unknown, by extending himself!.
